Everywhere a sign.

Look around Cleveland State University’s main campus, and you’ll see signs that a $200 million-plus renovation is underway. Projects include construction of a new Student Center; designed to create an open connection with the city of Cleveland, it will be a place that promotes student engagement, supporting CSU’s “Engaged Learning” platform. flourish is helping CSU with campus signage that integrates with external advertising, including fence graphics (a full block long) in front of the new Student Center, and new University Bookstore signage, both located on Euclid Avenue.

A Photo Shoot, a Press Check and American History

Sandwiched between a photo shoot and press check in High Point and Hickory, North Carolina, flourish and cabinet manufacturer client American Woodmark representatives visited the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Everyone celebrated the July 4th holiday with a house and roof-top tour of the 250-room French Renaissance-style chateau that was originally the Vanderbilt’s primary residence. flourish Principal, Henry Frey, believes Biltmore to be “a fascinating insight into home fashion, architecture and landscape design from the late 19th century.”

Engage: Cleveland State University

Word is out about CSU's new “engaged learning” platform. CSU’s “engaging” advertising began in Spring and is quickly breaking through the sea of sameness clutter in University marketing, positioning CSU as a place where students, faculty and staff are all uniquely engaged in the learning process. Creative developed by flourish targets students, parents, business leaders and potential donors, and can be seen on billboards and the internet, in print ads and TV spots, and heard on radio throughout NE Ohio. Keep an eye (and ear) out, and you just might learn a thing or two about CSU.

Life in the fun lane.

Or lanes, as the case may be. In this case, flourish hosted Winchester, VA cabinet manufacturer client American Woodmark for a meeting to review annual marketing plans…and then the real fun began post-meeting at The Corner Alley, restaurant/bowling hot spot on East 4th in downtown Cleveland. We were surprised to find that many of us demonstrated an uncanny knack for not bowling so much as looking damn good in the shoes. We’re already anticipating Laura Jo, D.J. and Joe’s next visit to once again show off our bowling prowess.

Presenting Portfolio

flourish client American Woodmark, one of the largest U.S. cabinet manufacturers, presents their latest Portfolio magazine. This issue features The New American Home 2008 (THAH), the official showhome of the International Builders’ Show, which showcases Amercian Woodmark’s Timberlake cabinetry. Portfolio is a resource to American Woodmark’s builder clients, providing them with information on the latest industry trends and techniques. flourish’s contribution includes location photo styling and art direction, writing and editing articles, layout/design and print production facilitation.

brrrrrrrr.

flourish’s Director of Client Services, Anthony Hughes, recently subjected himself to sub-zero temperatures all for the sake of…fun?! Anthony, who says he typically “runs hot,” wasn’t bothered by the average 25-degree Fahrenheit interior temp when he visited Quebec’s Ice Hotel. In fact, the chill in the air was well worth the incredible experience of staying at the hotel, which is reconstructed every year using 500 tons of ice and 15,000 tons of snow. Maybe this native Brit is more at home in Cleveland than we thought (pre-Spring thaw, that is…).

PD pays a visit.

The Plain Dealer recently featured flourish’s Huron Road digs in their Business Monday’s “In Your Space”column. Writer Douglas Trattner visited flourish and witnessed first-hand flourish’s modular approach to space design, allowing for flexibility and peak functionality. Trattner commented on flourish’s frugality in the article as well (road trip to IKEA, anyone?). Take advantage of our street-level accessibility—stop by, and see the space for yourself.

think. create. live. flourish.
